It is as advertised, the craftmanship is outstanding, particularily the join in the shaft, since I included in my order the ability to take it apart for travel.Players who have looked at it always remark on the quality of the work. My background in golf includes 10 years of teaching golf, playing on a university golf team, and playing to a 4 handicap for about 20 years. Putting has never been my strength so I decided to change what I was doing as well as puchasing a new putter. Your website caught my eye for two reasons, the price, and the honesty I felt in your descriptive comments.
Since receiving the putter, I've carefully studied different styles of using the putter in an upright and sidesaddle manner. Different grips, ball placement, and method of stroking the ball, ie, shoulder, arm or a combination thereof. And I took the time to practice at home, trying out all the options until I found something that I liked. I really recommend that anyone puchasing this putter take the time to figure out how they will use it, and then take the time to practice it before putting it under the pressure of competition. One practice I recommend is to get onto a real green in a quiet time with a handful of tees, and place them in different spots, and then work on lag putts, mid length, etc. I also found some second hand carpet, bought one of those putting gizmos, and take 10-15 minuts a day getting acquainted. How has it worked: I've a set process for both upright and sidesaddle.........and the llonger putts are always grouped close to the hole. The first time I played 9 holes for real, I sank two putts over 15 feet. That was about a years supply in previous times. And my line on some longer putts is remarkable, and I know that in time, the odds are that some of those different time zone putts are going to drop. Putting is always a work in progress, but I feel very confident with this putter in hand.......and those 3 footers are no longer an anxiety attack. I'm also working on the idea of putting while looking at the hole, a la basketball and a hoop, and this is where I've appreciated the length of the putt if I've been a wee bit off the sweet spot..........it is remarkably close to the spot I'd be if I hit it pure. And the sweet spot is REALLY sweet. Finally, I have 3 putters in one..............tall, sidesaddle, and the bottom part of the putter, when unscrewed, is 34 inches, just fine as a regular putter, actually it is better than, "Just fine", it has a very nice weight to it. Jake Holloway makes a great putter, at a very reasonable price.

Thanks — Had been using my homemade version of a side saddle putter for quite awhile. But clearly the FF is far better. Getting great roll on all shots and after a month or so I am finally coming to grips with the slightly different lie angle. Long putts especially have been very good and I think that has to do with the face angle. Still getting comfortable with shorter putts — but that mostly do to over reading 6 ft and less. But building confidence that I can go a little more forcefully to the hole. Wonderful tool for my bag. Larry

I recently ordered the Force Focus Backbone Side Saddle Putter. I have ordered a lot of things online over the years, but I have never experienced the prompt, professional and thorough follow-up to a purchase of something that I experienced with Jake Holloway. It was a textbook example of how to treat a customer. Since I had never heard of this company before, I was a bit leary about making the purchase, but even before my putter arrived I was very pleasantly surprised by the follow-up communication.
The putter arrived very quickly and was exactly as ordered and promised. The putter is very well engineered and constructed. I had been struggling with the yips for several months which had taken the enjoyment out of the game. I decided to do something radical so I gave the side saddle putter a shot. Immediately I had great results. In my first round I was not only making the dreaded 3 and 4 footers, but also rolled in some 8 and 10 footers. In my second round, I had no 3 putts for the first time in a long while. I still need practice on long putts since the stroke is so different, but it's coming along. I get some strange looks and funny comments about putting side saddle, but if I can enjoy the game again then who cares - I can deal with that.
In summary, this is a great business and if you're on the fence about pulling the trigger and ordering a putter from Jake Holloway, I would advise you not to hesitate. Phil Wagner
